About Us

Sweets & Suds has been a staple in downtown Griffith, Indiana since 1952, serving generations of families with a clean, comfortable, and reliable place to tackle life’s everyday chores. Twenty-three years ago, Bertha purchased the laundromat from a small family who had lovingly operated it for decades. Since then, she has continued that tradition of care—upgrading the space, expanding services, and keeping the heart of the business rooted firmly in community.

Today, Sweets & Suds stands as Griffith’s premier laundromat and self-serve dog wash, known for the lowest prices around, a spotless and well-lit facility, and friendly service you can count on. Conveniently located just one block south of the railroad tracks in downtown Griffith, we’re open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, making it easier than ever to get your laundry—or your pup—fresh and clean on your schedule.

Laundry Services: Make laundry day simple. Our clean, modern laundromat offers self-serve washers and dryers with plenty of capacity for everyday loads or bulky items. Prefer to skip the hassle? Try our Wash & Fold service—drop off your clothes and pick them up fresh, neatly folded, and ready to go. With 24-hour availability, you can do laundry on your schedule—early morning, late night, or anytime in between.
Self-Serve Dog Wash: Keep your pup clean without the mess at home. Our Self-Serve Dog Wash features easy-access tubs, warm water, and space to get the job done comfortably. We accept credit cards or cash for pet wash payments, and there’s even a walking path for dogs right outside so your four-legged friend can take a quick stroll before or after.
Amenities & Comfort: Settle in and make yourself at home. Enjoy free Wi-Fi while you stream, study, or get work done. Grab a quick pick-me-up from our snack machine, and, when the weather’s nice, relax at our outdoor seating. We’re kid-friendly too, with a welcoming space that makes errands easier for families.

Introducing Washer Wednesdays! Every Wednesday, we will be having a special, every washer load is only $2.50!

FAQ

What do I need to bring with me for the dog wash?

We provide a different variety of shampoo for your dog, and also have a dryer! If you'd like to bring towels instead you are welcome to!

What can I do while waiting for my laundry?

We have a wonderful walking and biking path alongside that you can take while you wait. There is also seating outside when the weather is nice. If you have your dog with you, feel free to bring them into the fenced in yard we have on the side!

If you don't want to wait, please utilize our wash and fold services and drop off your clothes instead!

Do I need to bring soap/detergent/dryer sheets?

You're more than welcome to bring your own, however we do have a dispenser that includes soap and dryer sheets if you need.
Please note that the laundry machines only accept quarters.

I'm a bit hungry, got any snacks?

Of course! We have a vending machine full of snacks and soda's to your taste!

What is the availability of having someone on site that works there? What are the hours of operation?

We are in and out throughout the day, but we are available 24/7 via phone call if you need anything right away! We always pick up!
